THOMPSON STATEMENT ON DEATH OF TIMOTHY WRIGHT

New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. issued the following statement today concerning the passing of Reverend Timothy Wright:

“I am extremely saddened to learn of the death of the Reverend Timothy Wright. For more than 40 years, his performances and original compositions have inspired people and helped deepen their faith.

A blessed son of Brooklyn, Reverend Wright went on to record several albums and secure Grammy nomination for his uplifting work. His work reached well beyond the borders of New York City and exemplified the transcendent nature of music and its contribution to the religious experience.

My thoughts are with Reverend Wright’s family and his congregation at the Grace Tabernacle Church of God in Christ.”
