View letter

New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today urged that the Bronxdale Community Center in the Bronx be named for United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

In a letter to New York City Housing Authority Chairman, John B. Rhea, Thompson advocated that the center be renamed for Justice Sotomayor “in recognition of her recent appointment to the nation’s highest court and her deep roots to our City, and in particular, the Bronx.”

Her achievements reflect positively upon all City residents and I urge your favorable consideration of this worthy effort,” Thompson wrote.
