New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today issued the following statement at a rally at City Hall calling for fair budget reforms:

We must ensure that City Hall and Albany put forth proposals that take into account the needs ofall New Yorkers. We cannot balance the budget on the backs of working people. No matter what your background is or what borough you are from, we have all felt the pain of this economic crisis and all New Yorkers must play a part in bringing New York back.
