New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today issued the following statement regarding the death of FDNY Lt. Robert J. Ryan:

“Lt. Robert Ryan proudly served our city and New Yorkers. I mourn his loss and extend my deepest condolences to his wife, Kathleen, his children, friends and colleagues. It is at times like these where we as a city collectively should pause to reflect on the heroism exhibited every day by New York’s bravest.”
