THOMPSON STATEMENT ON ANNOUNCEMENT BY STATE TO KEEP NYC OFF-TRACK BETTING IN OPERATION

New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today issued the following statement following today’s announcement to keep NYC OTB in operation:

“I commend Governor Paterson, Assembly Speaker Silver and Senate Majority Leader Bruno on their commitment to have the State take over New York City Off-Track Betting (NYC OTB), thus ensuring 1,500 hard working New Yorkers retain their jobs.

I look forward to reviewing the details of the agreement to ensure New York City receives its fair share of revenues and the workforce’s health and retirement benefits are protected.”
