New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. issued the following statement today at the ribbon-cutting celebration of Amalgamated Bank’s new Banking Development District branch in Sunset Park, Brooklyn:

“The Banking Development District program has been successful in bringing financial stability to dozens of neighborhoods throughout the City. I am extremely proud to be a part of this program and look forward to its continued success.”

The $10 million the City deposited into the Sunset Park bank branch marks a total of $200 million the City has deposited to date into 23 bank branches in the five boroughs.
