The following is a statement by New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. on the passing of Jeanette Gadson:

Jeanette Gadson was a devoted Brooklynite who dedicated her life to the improvement of Brooklyn. Jeanette won Brooklyn’s love with her care and devotion. She was a strong advocate who understood the needs of all of the communities in Brooklyn, and fought for better health care and educational services. She was a friend and a role model who will dearly be missed.
