THOMPSON MEETS WITH BRONX COMMUNITY LEADERS

New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr., toured several community-based organizations and hosted a luncheon for Bronx civic and community leaders to discuss the needs and concerns of neighborhoods in Community Boards 2 and 9 today.

Thompson visited the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and its Castle Hill Senior Program and the Neighborhood Enhancement For Training Services, Inc. program.

During an hour-long lunch with several dozen leaders, Thompson talked about the needs of the working families, New York City Pension Fund investments in the Bronx, and protecting homeowners from predatory sub-prime loans through the assistance of his new Foreclosure Prevention Helpline.

Community Board 2 covers Hunts Point, Longwood, and Community Board 9 covers Soundview, Parkchester, and Castle Hill.
