Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. issued the following statement regarding Housing Here and Now's multi-family lending protocol agreements with Citibank and New York Community Bank:
"Any bank that operates in New York City has a responsibility to its community and the residents who live there. The leadership that Citibank and New York Community Bank have demonstrated in agreeing to be vigilant about living conditions in multi-family properties will go a long way towards creating industry-wide standards which will in turn mean improved living conditions for all New Yorkers. I am hopeful that other banks operating in New York City will follow their lead."
