| STATEMENT BY NEW YORK CITY COMPTROLLER WILLIAM C. THOMPSON, JR. ON MAYOR’S PRELIMINARY BUDGET
|
| New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today issued the following statement on Mayor Bloomberg’s proposed Fiscal Year 2007 Preliminary Budget and four-year financial plan for the City:
“The Mayor’s preliminary budget appears to be in balance. I am pleased that he has addressed future health care costs by creating a health insurance trust fund. The Mayor has identified enhanced revenue sources and not sacrificed essential services. Still, I am concerned that the City continues to face very large budget gaps in the future. This is a consistent challenge that needs to be addressed.”
