Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. this week concluded his third annual holiday toy drive to collect gifts for needy children in the city.

"New Yorkers have shown their spirit of giving by donating gifts to make this holiday season a little bit brighter," Thompson stated.

The drive raised hundreds of toys including dolls, toy trucks, building blocks, footballs and stuffed animals.  In addition to employees with the Comptroller's Office, key contributors to Thompson's toy drive were KeySpan Energy, Con Edison, Hispanic Federation and Goodwill Industries.

The toys are being delivered to several citywide organizations including youth centers, schools, and hospitals in all five boroughs.
