Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today issued a call for the 1199 Service Employees International Union and the People Care Home Health Agency to resolve their current labor dispute.

Thompson, in a letter issued to both 1199 and People Care, stressed that he had "no doubt that both you and your respective staffs can find a way out of the current impasse by negotiating in good faith."

"I am confident that there is a way to resolve the current dispute over salaries and benefits at People Care without compromising the financial health and long-term viability of the company," Thompson wrote.

The Comptroller offered his offices at 1 Centre Street to facilitate the next bargaining session.
