THOMPSON JOINS INWOOD HOUSE CELEBRATION |
|
New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr., joined Inwood House today as it celebrated the groundbreaking of its Maternity Residence renovation . As Chair of the Citywide Task Force on Teenage Pregnancy, Thompson has worked with Inwood House to address the needs of pregnant and parenting adolescents.
"The renovation will transform the residence into a state-of-the-art Family Learning Center encompassing a Department of Education-sponsored school, a computer lab, a children's playroom, pre-natal health services, as well as parenting education and career learning spaces," Thompson said. "The expansion will help Inwood House to address more fully the mission that it set out for itself 175 years ago and that continues to make it a truly unique organization today."
