New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr. today issued the following statement regarding the official start of the Fordham Road Business Improvement District (BID):

“Throughout the City, Business Improvement Districts have proven to be public-private partnerships that work effectively and efficiently to improve the quality of life for property owners, merchants and residents. For that reason, I am particularly pleased that the newest BID has come to Bronx 's retail center - Fordham Road . As one of the 51 BIDs in the City's five boroughs, the Fordham Road BID not only will improve the area's business climate, but also will provide important services to the community.”
