COMPTROLLER
THOMPSON INTRODUCES PENSION FUND TRUSTEES TO FORMER ISRAELI PRIME
MINISTER EHUD BARAK |
| Comptroller
William C. Thompson, Jr. and trustees of the New York City pension
funds met with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak on Monday,
June 24, at the Comptroller's offices at One Centre Street. Barak
recently became a partner at SCP Private Equity Partners, a private
equity fund.
In the Fall of 2000, four New York City pension funds - the New
York City Employees' Retirement System, the Teachers' Retirement
System of the City of New York, the New York City Police Pension
Fund and the New York City Fire Department Pension Fund -- committed
$90 million to SCP's second fund. Comptroller Thompson is a trustee
on boards for the four funds, and serves as an investment advisor
to all of the City's pension funds.
In this new partnership, Barak, once a Major General in the Israel
Defense Forces and a former member of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs
and Defense Committee, will focus on identifying companies for SCP
that develop security-related products and services in technology.
