The Comptrollers
Office produces information and analysis that is important to
help keep the public and elected officials informed about how
their government is doing its job. Also, since the Comptroller
is an elected official, he has the obligation to report to the
public on how he is performing. It is the job of the Comptrollers
Press Office to disseminate information and reports produced
by the Comptrollers Office. It accomplishes that by responding
to requests from journalists and by communicating to the public
through the news media. Press Office staff serve as the Comptroller's
official spokespeople and arrange press conferences and interviews.
The Office prepares written communications, such as brochures,
newsletters, and press releases, and prepares speeches and legislative
testimony. The Office designs and edits publicity material and
policy statements released by the Office of the Comptroller.
