Dear Friends,
As the Comptroller of New York City, one of my key priorities is to ensure that all communities across the City have access to the financial services industry and that City residents are able to benefit from investments made in their neighborhoods.
As part of that effort, I invite you to join me at my Consumer Banking Day forum, which will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Medgar Evers College.
This important event will provide a full day of education and information workshops regarding various banking issues and products, and will feature representatives from banking institutions, government agencies and not-for-profits organizations. The workshops will address a wide range of topics, including homeownership, mortgage refinancing, savings and investment strategies, insurance, credit repair, careers in banking and information regarding college tuition.
I look forward to seeing you at this important event and making our first annual Consumer Banking Day a success. If you have any questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to call my office at 212-669-3089.
By serving the needs of each community in our City, we will secure a better quality of life for all New Yorkers.
Very truly yours,
William C. Thompson, Jr.
